When I lend people my pencil, they're always surprised at how nice it is. I tell them thanks and that it was fifteen bucks off of JetPens, and then they're even more surprised because I spent money that could buy a cheap pack of mechanical pencils from Office Depot on one single pencil. Why would someone do that?
Let me ask a better question. Why would someone keep throwing money at cheap, low quality pens and pencils when putting an investment up front for a higher quality pencil and a copious amount of good lead will make writing a lot nicer and keep them from going back again and again for refills?
Now I recognize that this is a loaded question, but I don't care. I like good writing utensils and stationery in general. I like having a lead guard so that I don't have to replace my lead every single day. The notebooks, paper, whatever you get from the grocery store just doesn't compare. Except for those metal Sharpie gel pens, those are pretty nice.
Invest in your writing. Fifteen bucks goes a long way when it comes to something you'll do every day.
